The Crunch DR-3725-1D is a mono Class D car amplifier designed to power a dedicated subwoofer system. Its compact chassis helps add bass capability where installation space is limited, while its monoblock layout keeps the focus on low-frequency output. It is intended for universal car-audio installations using compatible subwoofers and a separate source unit.

This amplifier is a fit for listeners building or upgrading a bass-focused system and wanting adjustable control over the subwoofer range. Published maximum-output figures are 930 watts at 4 ohms, 1,860 watts at 2 ohms, and 3,725 watts total peak output. The amplifier is specified as stable to 1 ohm, so subwoofer wiring and final impedance should be planned carefully.

For system tuning, the DR-3725-1D uses adjustable 12 dB crossovers, a variable low-pass filter, a subsonic filter, and variable bass boost. These controls allow the installer to set the upper bass cutoff, limit ultra-low frequencies, and tailor output to the enclosure and subwoofer being used. A wired bass-level remote is included for convenient adjustment from the driver’s seat.

Crunch equips the amplifier with proprietary SPEED-FET MOSFET components, a low-noise preamplifier circuit, and a PWM power supply. Quick Thermal Dispersion technology uses an aluminum heat sink to manage operating heat during normal use. The amplifier also includes power and protect indication to help monitor operating status.

The DR-3725-1D can serve as the bass channel in a system with an aftermarket receiver or other source unit that provides RCA outputs. RCA inputs, nickel-plated brass terminals, and screw-down connections support a straightforward installation. Its selectable logo lighting can be set to red, VU-meter mode, or off to suit the appearance of the installation.

Key Features

  • Mono Class D Design: Delivers efficient power for a dedicated subwoofer channel.
  • 1-Ohm Stability: Supports compatible low-impedance subwoofer wiring configurations.
  • Adjustable Low-Pass Filter: Sets the upper frequency range sent to the subwoofer.
  • Subsonic Filter: Helps limit frequencies below the selected cutoff point.
  • Wired Bass Remote: Provides convenient bass-level adjustment from the listening position.
  • QTD Aluminum Heat Sink: Helps manage heat in the compact amplifier chassis.

Design & Installation

The DR-3725-1D has a black aluminum heat-sink chassis with Quick Thermal Dispersion cooling technology. Nickel-plated brass connection terminals are designed to resist corrosion, while screw-down connectors help secure installed wiring. A built-in LED VU meter and selectable logo illumination provide visible status and styling options.

Mount the amplifier on a solid surface with clearance for airflow and keep it away from moisture and excessive heat. Use RCA signal cables from a compatible source unit, match the connected subwoofer load to the amplifier’s supported impedance, and use a 4 AWG amplifier wiring kit as recommended. The amplifier uses an external 150A fuse arrangement, so proper power wiring, grounding, and fuse placement are essential.
