The Rockford Fosgate Power T2500-1bdCP is a mono car amplifier designed for high-output subwoofer systems. It provides substantial continuous power for installations that need to drive one or more subwoofers from a dedicated bass amplifier. Its low-frequency-focused design makes it suited to listeners building a serious bass section rather than powering full-range speakers.

Constant Power circuitry allows the amplifier to maintain its rated 2,500-watt output at either 2 ohms or 1 ohm, while still providing 1,500 watts RMS at 4 ohms. This gives installers more flexibility when selecting subwoofers and planning final system impedance. The amplifier is rated for stable operation down to a 1-ohm load.

Its Class-bd circuit topology, MOSFET power supply, and MOSFET output stage are engineered for efficient high-current bass amplification. The frequency response is limited to the subwoofer range, from 20 Hz to 250 Hz, helping it integrate as a dedicated low-frequency channel. A variable low-pass crossover, infrasonic filter, and Punch EQ provide useful tuning controls for different enclosure and vehicle combinations.

The T2500-1bdCP includes balanced RCA inputs to help reject noise in long signal runs, along with RCA pass-through outputs for expanding a system. A selectable 0°/180° phase switch can assist with subwoofer integration. Blue LED signal and battery meters, plus power, thermal, and protection indicators, provide at-a-glance operating feedback.

For larger builds, two compatible amplifiers can be configured in bdSYNC mode for 5,000 watts RMS into a 2-ohm mono load. MasterSync capability supports coordinated control in multi-amplifier installations. This amplifier is best paired with subwoofers, wiring, charging-system capacity, and enclosure design appropriate for its high power level.

Key Features

  • Constant Power Output: Delivers 2,500 watts RMS at 2 or 1 ohm.
  • Class-bd Topology: Provides efficient amplification for dedicated low-frequency systems.
  • bdSYNC Capability: Links two amplifiers for 5,000 watts RMS mono.
  • Variable Low-Pass Crossover: Adjusts bass output from 35 Hz to 250 Hz.
  • Punch EQ: Adds adjustable boost at 45 Hz for bass tuning.
  • Balanced RCA Inputs: Helps reduce noise in the signal path.

Design & Installation

The T2500-1bdCP uses a cast-aluminum heat sink with convection cooling and Rockford Fosgate Dynamic Thermal Management. Its chassis measures 2.14 inches high, 8.14 inches wide, and 21.875 inches long. The amplifier includes audiophile-grade speaker terminals, 1/0 AWG power and ground connectors, MOSFET circuitry, and integrated LED status displays.

Plan a secure mounting location with adequate ventilation and room for the amplifier's long chassis and cable routing. Use correctly sized power and ground wiring, an external 300-amp fuse, RCA signal cables, and subwoofers wired to no less than a 1-ohm final load. Because of its output capability and current demand, the vehicle charging system and wiring should be evaluated before installation.
