The Prestige APS997Z is a vehicle security and remote start system designed to add remote engine starting, keyless-entry control, and alarm functions to compatible vehicles. It is intended for drivers who want to warm or cool the cabin before entering while adding monitored security functions. The system combines a two-way LCD-confirming transmitter with a companion one-way transmitter.

Rather than being an audio component, the APS997Z is a vehicle-convenience and protection upgrade that can complement any car audio installation. Its two-way LCD remote provides confirmation feedback from the vehicle, while the companion remote offers straightforward everyday control. The system supports lock, unlock, trunk-release, panic, remote-start, and programmable auxiliary functions where vehicle connections and programming support them.

Security coverage includes door, hood, trunk or hatch, and dual-stage shock-sensor monitoring when the applicable inputs are installed. The shock sensor provides a Warn-Away stage and a full-trigger stage, with adjustable sensitivity. A starter-kill output is also provided for compatible installations.

The APS997Z uses configurable remote-start settings to accommodate a broad range of vehicle electrical systems. It supports automatic- and manual-transmission programming, selectable engine-confirmation methods, diesel pre-start delay settings, configurable crank timing, and selectable remote-start runtimes. Manual-transmission applications require the system's Ready Mode procedure and appropriate parking-brake and tach connections.

For integration flexibility, the system includes data-interface, FlashLogic FLCART, Weblink programming, and telematics connection provisions. A compatible vehicle-specific interface may be needed for immobilizer bypass, data-bus communication, or expanded convenience functions. Design & Installation

The APS997Z uses a central control module with dedicated high-current start wiring, alarm and notification wiring, a 22-pin input/output harness, and separate ports for antenna, data, telematics, and FlashLogic accessories. Its supplied transmitter set includes a five-button two-way LCD transmitter and a five-button one-way transmitter. The system also supports an adjustable dual-stage shock sensor and glass-mount antenna/receiver assembly with built-in LED and valet switch.

Professional installation is recommended. The installer should confirm vehicle-specific ignition, starter, accessory, parking-light, lock, brake, hood, tach, and immobilizer requirements before wiring; a compatible bypass or data interface may be required and is vehicle dependent. Mount the antenna high on the windshield away from metallic window film and airbag deployment paths, then configure remote-start and security settings for the vehicle and intended use.
