The Memphis SE2000.1V2 Street Edge is a mono car audio amplifier designed to power a subwoofer system. It provides a focused low-frequency amplification channel for vehicles that need more bass output than a receiver’s built-in power can provide. Its 1-ohm-stable design supports a range of common subwoofer wiring configurations.

This amplifier is intended for listeners building an entry-level or value-focused bass upgrade. It delivers 220 watts RMS at 4 ohms, 380 watts RMS at 2 ohms, and 570 watts RMS at 1 ohm. Matching the final speaker load to the amplifier’s rated impedance is important for reliable operation.

The SE2000.1V2 includes low-pass, subsonic, bass-boost, and phase controls to help tailor bass response to the vehicle and subwoofer enclosure. The low-pass filter lets the subwoofer focus on bass rather than higher frequencies. A variable subsonic filter can help limit frequencies below the useful range of a subwoofer and enclosure combination.

Its mono layout includes RCA-level inputs and low-level outputs for passing signal to another amplifier. A wired remote bass level control is included for convenient adjustment from the driver’s seat. This makes the amplifier practical in systems where bass level needs to change with music, road noise, or listening preference.

The Street Edge chassis uses an extruded aluminum heatsink to help manage heat in a compact installation. The amplifier fits naturally into a dedicated subwoofer upgrade using an aftermarket receiver or compatible preamp signal source. It is also suitable for systems that may later add another amplifier through its pass-through output connections.

Key Features

  • Mono Subwoofer Channel: Focuses amplifier power on a dedicated bass speaker system.
  • 1-Ohm Stability: Supports properly wired subwoofer loads down to 1 ohm.
  • Variable Low-Pass Filter: Helps keep higher frequencies out of the subwoofer.
  • Variable Subsonic Filter: Helps limit very low frequencies below the chosen cutoff.
  • Wired Remote Bass Control: Lets the driver adjust bass level from the cabin.
  • Extruded Aluminum Heatsink: Helps dissipate heat during normal amplifier operation.

Design & Installation

The SE2000.1V2 uses a compact metal chassis with an extruded aluminum heatsink and externally accessible tuning controls. Its control panel includes gain, bass boost, low-pass, subsonic, and phase adjustment, along with RCA input and output connections. A power/protect indicator provides operating-status feedback.

Mount the amplifier in a dry, secure location with adequate ventilation, such as a trunk, hatch area, or behind a pickup seat. Use a properly fused power connection, solid chassis ground, correctly sized wiring, and a final subwoofer load no lower than 1 ohm. A 4-gauge amplifier kit is recommended, while the remote turn-on lead can use 18 AWG wire.
