The Hifonics HCC-2000.1D is a mono car amplifier designed to power a subwoofer system. It provides one amplified channel with output ratings for 1-, 2-, and 4-ohm loads, making it suitable for a range of single- and multi-subwoofer wiring configurations. It is intended for vehicle audio upgrades where a dedicated bass amplifier is needed.

This amplifier is built for listeners who want adjustable low-frequency output rather than a fixed bass presentation. Its variable low-pass crossover, subsonic filter, bass boost, and phase control allow the installer to tailor the subwoofer range to the vehicle, enclosure, and music preferences. A wired bass remote is included for convenient level adjustment from the cabin.

The HCC-2000.1D uses Hifonics Super D-Class circuitry and Ultra-Fi MOSFET output devices. A low-noise preamplifier circuit is used at the input stage, while the dual-coil PWM power supply is designed to maintain supply voltage through the output section. The published frequency response is 10 Hz to 500 Hz, keeping its focus on subwoofer duty.

For system integration, the amplifier includes speaker-level audio inputs as well as nickel-plated RCA input jacks. Its 0.2-9V variable input sensitivity supports connection with a range of source-unit signal levels. The mono configuration and onboard controls make it a focused solution for adding a powered subwoofer channel to an aftermarket or compatible factory audio system.

Output is rated at 500 watts into 4 ohms, 1,000 watts into 2 ohms, and 2,000 watts into 1 ohm. The amplifier includes LED protection diagnostics for overload and speaker-short conditions. Proper impedance selection, power wiring, grounding, fusing, and gain setting remain important for reliable operation in a vehicle.

Key Features

  • Mono Subwoofer Output: Delivers one dedicated channel for a subwoofer system.
  • 1-Ohm Power Rating: Rated for up to 2,000 watts at 1 ohm.
  • Variable Low-Pass Crossover: Adjusts the subwoofer handoff from 30 to 250 Hz.
  • Subsonic Filter: Provides adjustable low-frequency filtering from 15 to 35 Hz.
  • Wired Bass Remote: Allows in-vehicle adjustment of bass level.
  • Phase Adjustment: Offers 0-180° adjustment for system integration.

Design & Installation

The HCC-2000.1D uses a heavy-duty aluminum alloy heat sink to help dissipate heat from its output section. It has high-temperature, impact-resistant nickel-plated connectors and angled molded terminals for power, ground, and speaker wiring. Nickel-plated RCA jacks are used for the signal connections, and LED indicators provide protection-status diagnostics.

Mount the amplifier on a secure surface with adequate ventilation and do not install it upside down. The power and ground terminals accept 4 AWG cable, while the speaker terminals accept 12 AWG cable; the amplifier uses two 60A fuses. Match the connected subwoofer system's final impedance to a published power rating, use appropriate battery-side fusing, and set gain and crossover controls during installation.
