This kit is intended for owners who want to add a PMX-0, PMX-2, or PMX-3 receiver without using a universal dash solution.

The molded main dash bezel is texture- and color-matched to the Yamaha interior for an integrated appearance. Its design positions the compatible receiver in an accessible dash location while using a vehicle-specific carrier and harness arrangement. The result is a more organized installation for trail, dune, and outdoor riding applications.

Because this is an installation kit rather than an audio source unit, it does not create sound on its own. Instead, it provides the mounting platform and vehicle-specific connections needed to add a compatible Rockford Fosgate PMX receiver to the YXZ. Receiver selection determines the system's playback features, tuning capability, and audio outputs.

The RFYXZ-PMXDK is built for outdoor motorsports use and is specified with IPX6 water-intrusion protection. Its Element Ready approach is intended to support use around dust, UV exposure, temperature changes, moisture, corrosion, and vibration. The factory-pocket mounting location also helps keep the receiver installation secure and neatly routed.

Two carrier options are supplied: one for the PMX-0 and another for the PMX-2 or PMX-3. The kit includes dedicated vehicle harness components, mounting hardware, a drill guide, and a center-pocket grommet. It can serve as the foundation for a simple receiver upgrade or as the source-unit mounting component in a larger Yamaha YXZ audio system.

Design & Installation

The kit centers on a molded main dash bezel with a vehicle-matched black finish and textured appearance. Separate carriers accommodate the different PMX receiver form factors, while the included grommet and hardware support a secure, finished installation. The package also includes vehicle-harness components, allowing the kit to be configured around the selected compatible source unit.

Installation requires removing the hood, drilling a 2-inch access hole in the center pocket, and drilling four 3/16-inch bezel mounting holes using the supplied drill guide. The PMX-2 harness uses a 12-pin receiver connection, while the PMX-0 harness uses a 4-pin receiver connection and includes a separate power-harness connection. Disconnect the vehicle battery negative terminal before installation and use a qualified installer if you are not comfortable with vehicle disassembly, drilling, or wiring.
