The Hertz MP70-3 is a pair of compact 3-inch midrange speakers designed to reproduce the vocal and instrument range in a car audio system. They are intended for installations where a dedicated midrange driver can improve clarity between the woofer and tweeter. The 70 mm driver size can suit custom dash, door, kick-panel, or fabricated A-pillar locations when mounting space is available. The MP70-3 uses a pressed-pulp cone reinforced with cotton fibers. This lightweight cone construction is paired with Hertz's exponential V-cone profile to support controlled midrange reproduction and broad dispersion. Its Boundary Free rubber surround is designed to help extend usable response toward the lower midrange.

A symmetrical dual-neodymium motor structure and 20 mm CCAW voice coil support the speaker's compact form factor. The voice coil uses a double-layer winding on a polyamide former with decompression holes. Hertz also specifies an anti-vibration rubber magnet cover that can be removed where installation depth is limited.

The MP70-3 is best used as part of a properly designed multi-way system rather than as a full-range replacement speaker. It pairs naturally with a dedicated woofer for bass and lower midbass, plus a separate tweeter for upper-frequency detail. Metal mesh grilles are included to provide driver protection in compatible exposed mounting locations.

The MP70-3 combines a pressed-pulp cone, Boundary Free rubber surround, aluminum-alloy basket, and neodymium magnet system. Its basket is acoustically open, while the removable rubber magnet cover is intended to help manage vibration and fitment in shallow locations. The included grilles use a metal mesh design with a powder-coated inner grille.

Confirm the available mounting opening, mounting depth, and clearance behind the panel before installation. The speaker has a 4-ohm nominal impedance and should be connected through an appropriate active or passive crossover arrangement; Hertz rates its 100 W peak handling with a 250 Hz, 12 dB/octave high-pass filter. Use it with a dedicated woofer and tweeter when building a three-way front stage, and have an installer determine crossover points and amplifier gain settings for the complete system.
