The SV 165 NEO combines a water-repellent pressed-paper cone with a neodymium magnet motor and a 38.6 mm voice coil. Its motor unit is treated with cataphoresis, while insulated lead wires help limit oxidation exposure. Each driver weighs 0.9 kg (1.98 lb), supporting installations where reduced speaker weight is useful.

Confirm available mounting clearance before installation: the speaker has a 167.2 mm outside diameter, a 143.3 mm mounting-hole diameter, a 65.2 mm total depth, and a 57.1 mm mounting depth. Use a suitable external amplifier and a high-pass crossover; a crossover is recommended and is not included. The specified power rating is based on high-pass operation at 200 Hz with a 12 dB/octave slope.
