VOXX CRIMESTOPPER CAM400 Universal HD Backup Camera

The CrimeStopper CAM400 is a universal HD backup camera designed to add rear or front visibility to compatible vehicle video systems. Its compact eyeball-style camera can be placed in a variety of locations using the included mounting options. It is suited for cars, trucks, SUVs, RVs, and other applications where a configurable camera position is useful.

A 170-degree horizontal viewing angle provides broad coverage behind or ahead of the vehicle. The CMOS image sensor is specified at 756(H) x 504(V) resolution and supports operation in low-light conditions down to 0.3 lux. This helps provide a usable image in dim parking areas without relying on infrared LEDs.

The CAM400 supports selectable normal or reverse image orientation, allowing it to serve as either a rear-facing or front-facing camera. Selectable parking lines can also be enabled or disabled to suit the display and installation preference. These settings make the camera adaptable to a range of aftermarket monitors and compatible multimedia receivers with a camera input.

Its IP67 marine-grade housing is designed to resist dust intrusion and temporary water immersion. UV light protection supports exterior installation where the camera may be exposed to sunlight. The camera operates from a 6 to 16 volt power source for use in typical vehicle electrical systems.

Four included mount styles allow the CAM400 to be installed as a square, flush, angle, or contoured rubber-mounted camera. A 24-foot video cable and 6-foot power cable support routing from the camera location to the display area. It is a practical upgrade path for adding a camera to a compatible source unit, monitor, or dedicated vehicle video system.

Design & Installation

The CAM400 uses a compact eyeball camera design with an IP67 marine-grade housing and UV light protection for exterior vehicle use. Its included mounting components provide multiple ways to position the camera while maintaining a clean, application-appropriate installation. The camera is designed for a broad range of universal mounting locations rather than a single vehicle-specific fitment.

Connect the red lead to an accessory or reverse-trigger power source and the black lead to a clean, paint-free vehicle ground. The green wire controls the parking-line display, while the white wire changes image orientation for front mounting; the purple lead can pass a reverse trigger forward to a source unit when needed. Confirm that the receiving monitor or head unit has a compatible camera video input before installation.
