The Rockford Fosgate P3V2-69C2 is a 6x9-inch, 4-ohm 3-way coaxial/component speaker system designed for vehicles with separate locations for a larger woofer and a smaller coaxial speaker. It combines dedicated 6x9-inch woofers with 2.5-inch coaxial speakers to replace multi-location factory speaker arrangements. The system is intended for an OEM-style upgrade where preserving separate speaker positions is important.

This package suits drivers updating a factory system that uses 6x9-inch lower speakers and separate small upper speakers. Each set includes two 6x9-inch speakers, two 2.5-inch coaxial speakers, woofer crossover networks, bass blockers, adapters, and installation hardware. The 4-ohm design is compatible with common aftermarket car-audio amplifiers and factory-replacement speaker applications when fitment and power are verified.

Rated for 75 watts RMS and 150 watts peak power handling, the P3V2-69C2 is built for clear, controlled playback across a stated 49 Hz to 25 kHz frequency range. The 6x9-inch woofers handle the lower range while the 2.5-inch coaxial speakers cover midrange and high-frequency duties. Its 89 dB sensitivity rating at 1 watt/1 meter supports solid output with appropriately matched power.

Rockford Fosgate uses modular passive crossover sections to support flexible routing and installation. The woofer low-pass network is rated at 1.2 kHz at 6 dB per octave, while the system also includes 33 µF non-polarized bass blockers. The coaxial section incorporates a 3/4-inch Tetolon inverted-dome tweeter along with an additional 3/8-inch tweeter element.

For physical integration, the 6x9-inch woofer has a removable motor cover and a listed mounting depth of 3.13 inches with the cover installed. The included 2.5-inch Twist-Lock adapters support front- or rear-loading installation options for the smaller coaxial speakers. This makes the P3V2-69C2 a practical choice for a multi-speaker factory-location upgrade, provided the vehicle has the required mounting locations and clearance.

Key Features

  • 3-Way Coaxial/Component Layout: Combines 6x9-inch woofers with 2.5-inch coaxial speakers for separate factory speaker locations.
  • 75W RMS Power Handling: Supports amplifier matching up to its 75-watt RMS rating.
  • 4-Ohm Nominal Impedance: Works with many common car-audio speaker outputs and amplifiers.
  • Modular Crossover Networks: Allows the woofer crossover sections to be mounted together or separately as space permits.
  • Removable Motor Cover: Reduces woofer mounting depth when additional rear clearance is needed.
  • Included Installation Components: Supplies adapters, templates, wiring extensions, connectors, bass blockers, and mounting hardware.

Design & Installation

The 6x9-inch woofer uses a mica-reinforced polypropylene curvilinear cone, Santoprene half-roll surround, Nomex spider, and glass-fiber-reinforced PA66 composite basket. Its motor assembly uses a vented Kapton voice-coil former, overhung voice coil, and Y35 ferrite motor structure. The 2.5-inch coaxial speakers incorporate a 3/4-inch Tetolon inverted-dome tweeter arrangement for the high-frequency portion of the system.

Confirm the vehicle's speaker locations, cutout dimensions, mounting depth, and front-side clearance before installation. Use the supplied 2.5-inch Twist-Lock adapters where appropriate, route the supplied crossover wiring extensions securely, and observe speaker polarity throughout the installation. For an amplified active setup, Rockford Fosgate lists 400 Hz high-pass filtering for the 2.5-inch coaxials and an 80-400 Hz band-pass range for the 6x9-inch woofers, using 18 or 24 dB-per-octave slopes as starting points.
