VOXX PRESTIGE ASCL7 CarLink Cellular Telematics Module

The Prestige ASCL7 CarLink Cellular Telematics Module adds app-based vehicle control and location services to a compatible remote-start, security, or telematics-ready system. It is intended for drivers who want to send supported commands from a smartphone or tablet rather than relying only on a conventional transmitter. Cellular connectivity extends command capability beyond normal key-fob range when network coverage is available.

Using the CARLINK CL7 mobile application, the ASCL7 can support remote start or stop, lock or unlock, trunk or hatch release, and auxiliary functions when the connected vehicle system supports them. The app can also display supported vehicle information such as battery voltage, door-lock status, remote-starter status, and remote-signal status. Available functions depend on the installed remote starter, security system, vehicle wiring, and selected app plan.

This is a telematics control product rather than an audio component, so its performance character is centered on command response, connected monitoring, and GPS-based vehicle awareness. It uses LTE-M cellular data connectivity and supports AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and US Cellular networks. GPS functions provide vehicle locating through the app, with an open outdoor area sometimes needed for initial cellular or GPS connection.

The ASCL7 supports a configurable in-app dashboard, including vehicle display personalization and control-button arrangement. It can also support multiple vehicles and shared users under one profile. Premium Plus plan features add advanced location and monitoring tools such as geofences, zones of interest, trip details, speed alerts, curfew alerts, and battery notifications.

For an upgrade path, the ASCL7 is designed to integrate with compatible FlashLogic, Prestige, and Pursuit products equipped with a telematics data port. It may also be installed in standalone mode with vehicle power and ground for GPS-oriented functions, but remote-start control requires compatible connected hardware. One year of service is included, while Premium Plus is available as an upgrade.

Design & Installation

The ASCL7 is a compact concealed-installation telematics module with separate cellular and GPS status LEDs. The manufacturer does not publish enclosure-material or physical-dimension specifications. Its installation guidance calls for horizontal placement with the small access door facing upward and at least 3 inches of clearance from metal surfaces.

Professional installation by a certified technician is required. The module connects to compatible telematics-ready remote starters or, for standalone GPS-oriented use, to vehicle power and ground; compatible remote-start hardware may be sold separately. The installation guide identifies a red +12V battery lead, black ground lead, white and blue data leads, and a yellow positive alarm-input lead.
