Cerwin-Vega V69C 6" x 9" 2-Way Component Speakers

The Cerwin-Vega V69C is a 6" x 9" two-way component speaker system for vehicle audio upgrades. It separates the woofers and tweeters so installers can place the high-frequency drivers independently from the larger speakers. This makes it suitable for replacing factory speakers where improved speaker placement and dedicated crossover networks are desired.

The system is rated at 160 watts RMS and 480 watts maximum power handling, with a 4-ohm nominal impedance. Its 91 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and 90 dB sensitivity support use with compatible factory-powered or aftermarket audio systems. An external amplifier can be considered when its clean output is properly matched to the speaker system's rating.

Each set uses 6" x 9" woofers with hybrid carbon fiber/polypropylene cones and Santoprene rubber surrounds. The cone and surround combination is intended to provide controlled midbass response while accommodating speaker movement. A rigid stamped-steel basket and ferrite strontium motor structure support the woofer assembly.

Separate 1-inch silk balanced-dome tweeters reproduce the upper-frequency range. The included passive crossover networks divide the signal between the woofer and tweeter, and incorporate tweeter protection. Tweeter level adjustments allow an installer to tailor high-frequency output to the vehicle and mounting location.

The V69C is intended for listeners building a front-stage speaker upgrade or replacing a 6" x 9" factory location with a component system. Its separate tweeters can be flush- or surface-mounted in locations such as door panels, sail panels, dashboards, or rear decks where clearance permits. Speaker grilles, fitment adapters, and dedicated crossover networks are included to support installation planning.

Design & Installation

The V69C uses hybrid carbon fiber/polypropylene woofer cones, Santoprene rubber surrounds, powder-coated stamped-steel baskets, and ferrite strontium woofer motors. The 1-inch tweeters use silk balanced domes. The component system includes two woofers, two tweeters, two crossover networks, grilles, and tweeter mounting hardware.

Confirm that the vehicle provides an 8.68" x 5.93" cutout and at least 3.20 inches of mounting depth before installation. The tweeters support flush or surface mounting; flush mounting requires a 1.85-inch opening and at least 1 inch of rear clearance. Mount crossovers in a dry, ventilated location and connect the amplifier or head-unit speaker output to the crossover input before connecting the woofer and tweeter outputs.
